The capital city of western australia sits on the doorstep of the swan river. big cities and rivers in most of the world would normally indicate a waterway dead and devoid of life, however the upside for perth and the swan river is that the river is in what can be considered good health.. Boat ramps around fremantle. our nominated boat ramp is the leeuwin boat ramp on riverside road in east fremantle (opposite leeuwin barracks). it has a three-lane concrete ramp into the swan river. facilities include two jetties, toilets nearby and plenty of paid parking. it also has a cafe and playground nearby.. It is a good ramp and has a jetty, parking cost ahout $12 and there is a washdown tap (bring your own hose). used point walter once, found the ramp angle shallow and sanded up, had to get the wheels wet just to get the boat in, also no jetty, but there is one close by. i have since joined the south of perth yacht club to avoid the hassle..
Metropolitan boating facilities find out about metropolitan boating facilities in western australia, including boat launching ramps and marinas. access to relevant coastal data is also provided here.. Rig is correct- no jetty. also there is a sand ramp opposite mt pleasant on the kwinana freeway side. pretty quiet most of the time. leuwin (east fremantle) very expensive as sarcasm0 said. limited parking too. packed in summer because it's the closest ramp to the ocean along the river. 2 finger jetties. see's a lot of boat traffic.. Keane st jetty is located on the northern side of the royal freshwater bay yacht club. access is from lilla st, hobbs place, the esplanade or keane st in peppermint grove..
