The wooden boat association of south australia (wbasa) is a collective of very interesting people. but nowhere near as interesting as the boats they own, love and muck about in! the wbasa was formed over 20 years ago.. We are an association of enthusiasts with a shared passion for wooden boats. within that general definition our members represent a broad range of boats and special interests encompassing - boats ranging from 100 years old to those barely begun. boats powered by sail, steam, diesel, oars or paddles.. The classic australian wooden power boat association is made up of enthusiasts from all over australia. you don't have to own a wooden power boat to become a member, but only wooden boats are permitted at our "gatherings". a large part of this website is our bulletin board..
South australia's finest wooden boats gather at goolwa on the river murray biennially for the wooden boat festival. the festival has plenty to see and do with two action filled days of an exciting mix of both water and land based events.. As well as the kwbr, terra linna has been sailed by members at the australian wooden boat festival, the tall ships event and two openings of the sailing season, where she took a salute from the governor.. The rmboa's submission was supported by various organisations such as the boating industry association of south australia (biasa), the houseboat hirer's association (hha), the riverland cruising boat club (rcbc) and the wooden boat association of south australia (wbasa)..
