Oamaru bay boat ramp. located off sh25, off colville road, there is a steep concrete ramp which is tidal, with limited roadside parking, a really nice picnic area, with toilets, with no facilities.. Oamaru bay boat ramp sh25 opposite #420 in oamaru bay . this is a single lane concrete ramp which can be used for launching for boats and trailers up to 7m. launch 2.5 hours before high and ensure that you are back at ramp no more than 2 hours after high tide for adequate time/water to retrieve. worst winds here are s, sw, and w.. The ramp was damaged during floods in february and, along with the river channel, repair work has now been completed. while the camping season has now ended, the boat ramp will continue to be used throughout the winter by boaties and yachties, and the repairs will no doubt come as welcome news..

I had another trip over to oamaru on friday to check out the rentals as it looks like we are moving in 4 weeks. had a the usual trip to the harbour and ramp (as you do) and see there is a "north otago yachting and power boat club" located at the ramp. anyone got any info or contacts for them. regards jb. If you have too, you can park along the streets near vinoy park, and have one person drive the boat over to pickup the person driving the car. a little trouble, but at least you are right there. this is one of the most central boat ramps to the center of tampa bay, and it takes about 20 minutes on a calm day to cruise down to the skyway bridge..
