This video is for the diy'er with limited resources. obviously this is not close to good conditions for painting, but for an old fishing boat in tough shape this will get the job done.. I noticed the paint on my jon boat was not very durable, and i didn’t want to put the top coat on it. so i decided to get the 2 layer kit so i could remove the paint on my jon boat to get it to bare aluminum, then apply the wetlander primer, and finally the wetlander top coat.. Aluminum boat hull preparation those of you with aluminum hulls should heed this caution: do not put bottom paint containing copper directly over aluminum! if you let these two (2) dissimilar metals come into contact with each other and put them into water, you will have just built yourself a large battery!.
